Clinton Tan – Assignment 2

Sometimes, I like to think that clothes can have a life of its own. In order to get the effect I wanted to convey this message, I took several photographs with the help of a friend, including one of myself, a clothes hanger, and the interior of a flannel shirt. I used magic wand, quick selection, extract, and background eraser to replace my head and chest with flannel fabric pattern and a clothes hanger. I created several layers to combine all of these images, with the hanger on top, then the collar, then the shirt, and finally the interior of the shirt. I then used curves, levels and color balance to adjust the lighting of the individual components (the hanger, the collar, and the interior of the shirt). I also cloned the wall pattern to paint away the two thresholds I was standing in between, as this photo was taken in a hallway. Lastly, I used curves, levels and color balance to adjust the lighting in the overall photograph.
