Claudia Van Koba is a third grade teacher at Tye River elementary School. After traveling to Greece the prior summer, she was inspired by the architecture specifically a style know as Caryatids. Caryatids are columns in the form of women to symbolize women holding up the building under pressure. Claudia is teaching her class to make a three dimensional model of a Caryatid in class using paper with a polymer glass medium and a four foot doll rod. Claudia explains that the reason for doing this project is to connect with her students on a kinesthetic level.
