Exercise 6.2

The Francis Ching Cube House

Introduction

This assignment focuses on learning to move objects and using the “snaps” which will result in accurate movement essential for 3D modeling.

Part I:

  • Using the image below as a guide, model Francis DK Ching’s Cube house by assembling a series of cubes. Concentrate on moving the cubes accurately. When you have built the bulk of the house, begin adding finer details until the house looks like the Ching drawing.

Part II: Embellishing the house: 

  • Once you have modeled the house, please feel free to add some additional “character” to the building to make it your own.

Part II: Turning in your work:

  • Before the end of class today, choose Export>2D Graphic to create a .png or .jpg image of your model. Make the view similar to that of the Francis Ching Drawing. Post your image to the course website.
