LEGO’s and Architecture?

LEGO.com Architecture Home

If you’re a child of the 80’s & 90’s, you can remember playing with these blocks and spending hours and hours just stacking them until they tumble. LEGO has a new division giving “Architectural Homage” to the building that we have awed and aspired. Not only giving you a bit of history on each architect and their stardom, you see how the buildings were selected to be apart of an elite group replicated in LEGO’s eyes. Finally, there’s a contest which you can give a bit of input on the next building to be added for mass produce in their retail stores.

This website can be useful to learn a bit a history of where we as Architects have came from and where what direction we are moving into. When I found out these buildings are available for purchase, I wanted to run out and buy them all.

  1. I love the nostalgia that this posts conjures up. I always played with LEGOS as a child, and loved building toy structures and buildings. I never built anything big with LEGOS, but designs like these always sparked my imagination and made me think big!
