Kathryn Exercise 1.1

A fun Architectural website that is fun to check our is World-Architects, http://www.world-architects.com/ .

This website is a database of Architects around the world and their popular work. It is an exciting site to navigate and view new ideas and concepts from current and past Architects. For young designers it is a great place to expand their view of design and creativity. Viewing the designs throughout the world can help prospective Architects and designers familiar themselves with the more modern and unique styles.

Emily Grace- Excercise 1.1

http://greatbuildings.com/

Here’s a link to a site called Great Buildings (pretty generic). This site makes it easy to find famous, historical buildings. I use this website when I can’t remember specifics about a given building. Each project included on the site has its own profile full of facts (ie. the building’s architect, context, location, etc). Also included are paragraphs of descriptive information and sometimes quotes from the architects themselves. The search feature also proves helpful when researching individual architects. Just type their name and the site will list the architect’s work. Another useful feature is the search by location. Need to find some old, French buildings? This site makes is simple. Enjoy!

Marlon’s Assignment 6 Choice: Salk Institute or Exeter Library

My choice for Assignment 6 would have to be either The Salk Institute or The Exeter Library by my hero  Architect Louis Khan. Here are the images of them both:
