The original picture was taken in Blackhawk, Danville, it is panoramic picture, that I kept it as it is, in my second picture first I cropped the whole image and then cut it in four and placed each one in four different layers. In each layer I applied the techniques that I learned in class, burning and dodging, levels, channel mixer, black and white, and curves. I cut it in four to apply all the techniques learned and see the difference between each one. The sky was foggy and I used a lot of burning but it didnt work well. I also aplied for each layer independently contrast, saturation and brightness. But when I printed it didn’t show up very well as in Photoshop.
Assignment_1
Assignment #1- Lighthouse
This is a photo taken in Old Town Suisun. The top image is the original and the bottom one is the edited version. I used Photoshop CS4 to edited the photo. I kept things simple by using the techniques we used for the exercise. I used the curve, histogram, channel mixer and the burn/dodge tools. The original image was dark so I lightened it up with the curve tool. Certain colors began to be more emphasized. The histogram and the channel mixer added to the color. Figures started to become more clear and brighter. I used the burn/dodge tool last. I played around with for awhile because you can easily over do it with this tool. The dodge tool was more useful to lighten up areas that were still dark. The final image clearly shows the surrounding vegetation in more detail. It complements the lighthouse and other buildings.

ASSIGNMENT1_JUANCERDA
For this assignment I basically tried a little bit of everything we learned in the class so far. I cropped the photo, and got rid of aspects that in my opinion weren’t necessary. I also messed around with curves and levels, making my whites and darks pop out more. I did just of tiny bit of dash&burn in the sky. The most significant change to this photo was the saturation. The original lacked to capture all the beautiful and bright colors, so i decided to add some color.
