This website focuses on new design concepts, demonstrating how design drives and improves business.  Buildings, computer fonts, furniture, coffee pots, buttons on a dialysis machine – everything is improved with good design.  Additionally, the content makes you think about your preconceived notions.  The images are intriguing and the stories are thought provoking and motivating.  The articles cover breaking news and controversial ideas from leading designers on a wide range of topics that one wouldn’t always associate with “design.”

One of my favorite Architectural websites is the Architectural Record. It contains information based on design, leading projects around the world, and architectural information that relates even to non-architects. The newest Technologies related to architecture and construction are also available, such as the latest in Solar Technology. Also available to this website’s readers are some of the latest news, including global trends, political climates, education; all relating to the fields of architecture, construction and design.

The website for Architectural Record (http://archrecord.construction.com/ ) is a great site to explore all sorts of topics in the architecture field.  Young designers can observe current projects  that are in progress  in their design.  Whether it’s residential or commercial buildings, the website offers research of green design, materials, firms, practice, technology, and news in the architecture field.  The website also offers high quality photographs of buildings in their different stages.  People can recieve in formation on what is emerging in the field of design, and the site also offers lots of resources.

Studio 7 Designs is a very asthetically pleasing website to view.  Based on what their main page shows, it is assumed that these people who operate this website are interested in eco-friendliness.  Their website consists of cartoon-like illustrations of different scenes in nature.  They are promoting their business by letting the audience know that they have designed award winning websites amongst many other things the design such as business cards.  The website is very clean-cut, organized, and stylistic making it easy to navigate around.  The images are all original and created to fit the theme of the website.  They also provide portfolios of their work so that customers can determine whether or not they like the way this company designs things.  Their main page of their website is a pretty good, overall look at what this company can do.  I think that this website is useful to young designers because it is very professionally done and is a good example of what original, creative, digital design should look like.

Readymade is a print/online magazine which is heavily devoted to diy design.  With lots of projects to take on yourself and some inspiring ideas this site is perfect for the budding designer from amatuer to pro.  The magazine will often profile current professional designers and other veterans in related fields and show whatever cool things they are doing and give ideas to young designers.  There’s also lots of other fun non design related projects as well.
