Illustrator 3.11 [custom background texture]

  1. Create a rectangular object in Illustrator.
  2. Fill the object with 90% gray.
  3. Navigate to Object>Rasterize
  4. Now, select the object and navigate to Filter>Texture>Grain.[premium content]
  5. Set the “Intensity” to “96”, the “Contrast” to “59” and the “Grain Type” to “Sprinkles.” Select “Ok”
  6. Now navigate to Filter>Artistic>Rough Pastels. Note: You can select any of the artistic filters for this operation and adjust the settings as necessary, it just depends on the look you are trying to achieve.[premium content]
  7. Save your work as a .jpg or .eps. Follow Illustrator tutorial 3.10 to apply this texture to a background color or object.
