“Using Transparency in InDesign”
- Begin with a new InDesign document. (File>New Document…)
- You will need to draw a series of frames (using one of the frame tools) or objects (using the pen tool).
- Place images (or text) into the frames.
- Select the frame you would like to make transparent and open the effects window (Window>Effects…)

- Now adjust the opacity of the object to give it transparency.
- You can also add a transparency gradient to an object. First, select the object.
- Next, open the Effects window (Window>Effects…) if it is not already open.
- Now, click on the “fx” at the bottom of the effects window and select “Gradient Feather”

- Adjust the feathering as necessary by dragging the gradient stops.
