Rhinoceros Tutorial 5.19 [rebuild]

“Rebuilding a NURBS surface”

  1. In an existing Rhino model, select the surface you wish to rebuild.
  2. Navigate to Edit>Rebuild or type Rebuild into the command line.
  3. You will see the Rebuild Surface dialog box (shown right).
    • Point Count: Edit the “U” and “V” values to be an appropriate number for the size of your rebuilt surface. The current point counts are shown in parenthesis after the “U” and “V.”
    • Degree: The degree of the rebuild can be set from 1 to 11, generally leave the default values (again shown in parenthesis).
    • Delete input checkbox: allows you to keep your original surface if you desire.
    • Current layer checkbox: moves the new surface to the current layer.
    • Re-Trim checkbox: Generally, leave the Re-Trim box checked as this will lead to the best results.
