“Using the SectionCutFace Ruby Script”
You may use the ruby script (linked below) to fill in solid objects in your section cut.
SectionCutFace v.2.4 (Source Website: Sketchucation, you need to register to download directly)
- You will need to decompress the .zip file once you have downloaded it and then place the .rb file in one of the following locations:
- PC:
- C:/Program Files/Google/Google SketchUp 7/Plugins
- Mac:
- ‘Hard Drive’/Library/Application Support/Google SketchUp 7/SketchUp/Plugins
- PC:
- When you are done, open SketchUp and open the ruby console and type, load ‘SectionCutFace.rb’ and hit enter (make sure to include the quotes!) Also, SketchUp will need to be closed before you add the .rb file otherwise you will need to restart it before you will be able to load the ruby script.

- After you have loaded the script, If you select the section cut and right click, you will have the option to “Add Section-Cut Face” in the context menu that appears. Choose this option.

- Next you are presented with a dialog box (below) that allows you to select a color for the resulting spaces/edges. It will also allow you to specify a layer for the cut faces.
