Assignment 1 – Brett O’Brien


In this image I did a few things to really make the gate and building pop out. Initially the gate was darker so I used the dodge tool to lighten it to have more of a contrast with the back ground. I also used the burn tool to darken the sky as well as the shadows and trees. I left the building the way it was because I thought the yellow was a cool color mixed with the blue sky and brown part of the building. I also used a grunge overlay to make the gate look almost rusted and the building rustic. Overall I thought this photo captured the feeling of Oakland well and was fitting for an architecture class.
