CASPER THE WHITE GERMAN SHEPHERD by Gary Mann
This photo taken by Gary Mann captured my attention and I cannot explain why it caught my attention perhaps simply because, personally, I am a dog lover. This photograph is a great example at showing compositional techniques such as simplicity, asymmetrical balance, and the rule of thirds. The main focus of this image is on the area where the dog is with the blurred background, simplicity. This image is almost symmetrical, but the two halves of the image do not match, so it is basically asymmetric. The most important elements in this image are shown within the central area of the four imaginary intersection points of two imaginary horizontal lines and two imaginary vertical lines; This is what the rule of thirds state.
