Eco City- Kailey Caldwell- Exercise 101

As environmental changes are causing many to become uneasy, contributing ideas can hopefully help us withstand these arising conditions. A serious topic regarding climate change focuses on the rising sea levels that are the result of melted polar ice. In efforts to aid in this discussion, Bjarke Ingels Group has proposed the idea of creating a sustainable and energy-efficient city residing on water. It would go by the name of Oceanix City. The city could hold up to 10,000 people and would be composed of neighborhoods and a central area in which everyone could gather. Each neighborhood could be specific to different cultures, and the main gathering place would be a good way of sharing customs with one another. Farming would be the main source of food, which is the most energy efficient method. The city would adapt with the changes of population and the environment in order to adjust to people's needs in the best way.
