Inside Olympic House, the Olympics’s Exceptional New HQ That Seamlessly Blends Into the Environment

Designed by 3XN Architects, the new structure is one of the most sustainable buildings in the world

Summary:

3XN architects designed the new Olympic headquarters in Sweden, focusing on the main principles that are attached to the Olympics. Movement, transparency, and unity were key points to their design. The building has a wavelike structure to indicate movement as well as provide extra room for employees. Its spiral staircase obligates employees to walk on each floor of the building to get onto the next staircase. This feature was created to create a better sense of unity and encourage collaboration. When designing this building architects also had to take into consideration the structure around it. Therefore the park close by has been Incorporated into the design and brought up to the first floor.

  1. very nice design, something that i cant see before. The underground building is beautiful and minimalist. and you use all white interior and woods to match.

  2. The 3XN architects were very creative when it came to designing the staircase. Having the staircase in the middle of the building allows access to view other floors and feel more aware of where one might need to go. I also believe that it increases communication and interaction within people inside of the building.
