Exercise 101 – Christian Frisina

Pilgrims' House in Vastseliina

The addition of a more modern built building adds to the castle ruins by incorporating the use of rustic steel panels for the exterior while masking the technological advances of modern day.  To walk out the front door and view the castle built so long ago is simply amazing.  To utilize a mid-evil times brick and block design combined with modern finishing(s) is brilliant and appealing.  This building recreates for us now what it may have been like to live 500 years ago without forgoing some of the creature comforts we have grown accustomed to.

  1. I like this building. The most interesting part is the materials of the wall. I can only see the side view of the building from this posting and it looks quite simple, but he wall makes the building more interesting.
