Exercise 103

This is a really fascinating image because it's cut diagonally in half, which shouldn't work, but does. The neutral tones of the lower half perfectly balance the colors and textures of the upper half, that has a lot more variation in subject matter. There's a cool use of layering with a sense of front, middle, and back that runs with the visual motion of the mountain ranges as they work their way toward the horizon.

  1. I really love how this photo brings you into the environment. The different shadows in the foreground as well as under the clouds also really brings it to life. I think that the diagonal cut through the photo has a very interesting effect, as it almost feels like I am about to slip and slide down the incline.
