This picture was taken at my house of a potato vine plant which grows along my fence. My first step in editing was to convert the image to black and white using a color mixture adjustment. I started there because I felt like the color of the image was distracting and by converting it to black and white, it added to the depth of the image as well as allowing the eye to rest easier on it. Secondary adjustments included levels and curves to play with which areas of the photo were to be focused on and which were darkened to fall into the background.
I like the shadows in the black and white photo. I think it goes well with the plant’s texture
