  1. Begin by signing up for the Dropbox service at: Do not download the Dropbox software when prompted. You can download the software from Dropbox for your own personal computer, but it will not work on the lab computers.
  2. Navigate to Please click on the Downloads section and download “Dropbox Portable AHK.” Please save this file to your flash drive. You will need to decompress the .zip file, so right-click on the downloaded file and select extract all from the context menu.
  3. With all the files extracted, Open the DropboxPortableAHK folder and double-click on DropboxPortableAHK.exe. This will open the installer for Drobox Portable for your flash dive.
  4. Click next to continue. You don’t need to enter connection profiles at this time so click next again.
  5. For the Dropbox folder location, change to “\Dropbox” This will create a Dropbox folder in your flash drive. All files you place in this folder will be backed up to Dropbox.
    • Note: I used to recommend backing up your whole flash drive but flash drives have grown too big for Dropbox, so a single backed up folder is the next best solution.
  6. You do not need to type anything for “Previous Dropbox Folder,” so click next again.
  7. For “Update Notification” please check both boxes for “Update Automatically” and click Next. In the “Addons” section, leave the defaults and click next. Click Next again for “User Applications.” [Premium Content - Login] [Membership Options]
