- Create a rectangular object in Illustrator.
- Fill the object with 90% gray.
- Navigate to Object>Rasterize
- Now, select the object and navigate to Filter>Texture>Grain.[Premium Content - Login] [Membership Options]
- Set the “Intensity” to “96”, the “Contrast” to “59” and the “Grain Type” to “Sprinkles.” Select “Ok”
- Now navigate to Filter>Artistic>Rough Pastels. Note: You can select any of the artistic filters for this operation and adjust the settings as necessary, it just depends on the look you are trying to achieve.[Premium Content - Login] [Membership Options]
- Save your work as a .jpg or .eps. Follow Illustrator tutorial 3.10 to apply this texture to a background color or object.
