Unique College Dining Hall at UC San Diego – Thomas Baumgartner – Exercise 101

Unique College Dining Hall at UC San Diego

A newly constructed dining hall at UC San Diego created the third location of a Soda and the Swine restaurant in San Diego. The atmosphere has the characteristics of a classic diner, a green outdoor environment, with an island-like setting. This space combines these ideas with bamboo slats on the walls that also create the chair booth, ferns that hang from the ceiling, and black and white tiles that rest below red bar stools.

  1. Swanky! It looks as if when walking into this place you’re stepping into a time portal. The use of brass and funky retro interior design has really captured the essence of the 1920’s and the speakeasy movement.
